How to get to Utrecht

Utrecht is easy to reach as it is centrally situated in The Netherlands and is located at the hub of the Dutch motorway and railway network. Utrecht also offers air travellers good road and rail connections.

 

From Schiphol Amsterdam Airport to Utrecht

The easiest way to travel to Utrecht is from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport. The train is best option. Tickets can be purchased from the ticket office or vending machines in the arrival hall. Please be advised that a return ticket is valid for travelling on the same day. Trains to Utrecht run on two routes:

·       There is a direct train form Schiphol Amsterdam Airport to Utrecht Central Station. Frequency is twice per hour.

·       In all other trains, you must change trains at Station Duivendrecht to any intercity directions for Nijmegen, Maastricht or Eindhoven. Utrecht Central is the first stop.

 

The entire trip lasts about 40 minutes and costs ? 7.90 (single trip, 2nd class) or ?13.40 (single trip, 1st class). We recommend you to come to Utrecht by train.

 

From Amsterdam Airport to Utrecht by taxi
If you phone the Utrecht Taxi Company (UTC) in advance (+31 (0) 30 230 04 00) or make an online reservation at
http://www.utc.nl/english/index_english.html a taxi will be waiting for you when you arrive at the Schiphol Amsterdam Airport. However it is expensive, it will cost you approximately ?100,00 (rate 2011).
If you call UTC from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, you have to wait approximately 40 minutes for a taxi.

 

From Rotterdam The Hague Airport to Utrecht

Take a taxi from Rotterdam The Hague Airport to Rotterdam Central Station. From there you take the Intercity train in direction Utrecht (and further)

Duration approximately 1 hour.

Indicated price: ? 9.30 single trip, 2nd class, ? 15.30 single trip 1st class. This is excluding taxi fare.

 

From Eindhoven Airport to Utrecht
Take bus line 401 to Eindhoven Station. At Eindhoven Station you take the Intercity train to Schiphol Amsterdam Airport. At Utrecht Central Station you get off the train.

Duration approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes

Indicated price: ? 12.90 euro single trip, 2nd class, ? 21.90 euro single trip first class. This is excluding bus fare.

 

From Utrecht Central Station to your destination

 

By bus
At Utrecht Central Station: there are local (blue/white) and regional (green or yellow) buses, as well as taxis to take you to your final destination.

 

How to get to

 

Apollo Hotel Utrecht City Centre - Vredenburg 14, 3511BA Utrecht

Apollo Hotel Utrecht City Centre is situated within walking distance of the Central Station of Utrecht. The hotel is also easily accessible by car. The Vredenburg parking (address: Rijnkade) structure in close proximity of the hotel is available at a reduced rate when you stay at the Apollo.

 

By car
From anywhere in the country you follow the Utrecht signposts. As soon as you arrive in the Utrecht vicinity you follow the signs for the Jaarbeurs (convention centre). You go towards the convention centre situated in the heart of Utrecht. Once you arrive at the convention centre, you follow the "Centre" and "Centre Parking" signs. This route runs along several parking facilities below the Hoog Catharijne shopping centre. The Vredenburg parking structure is situated the closest to the hotel.

By train
The hotel is located within a five minutes walking distance of the Utrecht Central Station. Follow the Centre Exit signposts and then you can choose, a pleasant stroll through the Hoog Catharijne shopping centre or a refreshing walk al fresco along the Catharijnesingel, which takes you over the Vredenburg.

By car
Highway A27 from direction Hilversum:

Take exit nr. 30, and then take a left and pass under the viaduct and go on. At the next traffic lights take a right into De Bilt. Leave the roundabout on second street. Drive on until the cross road (Dorpsstraat), go left there. At the traffic lights drive on, onto a dead-end road (De Holle Bilt).

Hotel De Biltsche Hoek at your right after approximately 300 metres.

 

Highway A27 from direction Breda and highway A28:

Take exit 2 De Bilt/Uithof in the direction of De Bilt. In De Bilt right after passing the cityname sign "De Bilt", take a right, this road is called De Holle Bilt.

A little further on the road is "Hotel De Biltsche Hoek" at your right hand side.

 

By bus from Utrecht Central Station

From Utrecht Central Station you take one of the green Connexxion buses: 50-52-53-74 directions Zeist, Driebergen or Amersfoort.

You get off the bus at Tunnel De Bilt. From there it is a 10 minute walk to our Hotel.

Walk under the tunnel and straight on. At the end of the street (Kapelweg) you go right (Dorpsstraat). Cross the street at the traffic lights. Now you are at De Holle Bilt.

Hotel De Biltsche Hoek is at your right at approximately 300 metres.

 

How to get around in Utrecht

By Bus and Tram
Both local and regional buses and tram operate within the city of Utrecht. To use them you will need to purchase an "OV-reiskaartje" (OV-travel card). You buy this with the bus or tram driver.

 

How to get to the conference venue

From the Apollo Hotel to conference venue

-        From Utrecht City Centre you walk to the busstop "Neude" at Potterstraat (approx. 200m from Apollo hotel) and take bus line 11, direction to 'De Uithof/AZU'

-        Get off the bus at bus stop 'Botanische Tuinen' (Botanical Gardens)

-        You will see the glaze building of the Faculty of Economics just left around the corner and across the bus lane. (Beware for bikers!)

 

From Hotel De Biltsche Hoek to conference venue

-        From the hotel to the conference venue: take Connexxion bus line 71 in direction "Nieuwegein". This bus has a frequency of two times per hour.

-        Get off the bus at bus stop 'Botanische Tuinen' (Botanical Gardens)

-        Walk back about 100 meters

-        You will see the glaze building of the Faculty of Economics just left around the corner and across the bus lane. (Beware for bikers!)

 

By Car

High way A28 from junction "Rijnsweerd" follow the signs to Amersfoort/Zeist

-        Take exit 2: De Bilt/De Uithof.

-        At the stop sign, turn left and drive south at "Universiteitsweg"

-        The second road to the right is Leuvenlaan. Follow the lane for approx 500 meters. When you have crossed the bus lanes, you see a parking on your left hand side.
If this parking is full (vol), go straight on and turn left at the traffic lights. Straight on with the next traffic lights. Just in front of you on the left you see a parking (Sorbonnelaan). From here it is approx. 10 minutes walk to the building of the Faculty of Economics & Management.

-        Parking rate is max. 7 euro per day. Payment with chipknip or coins.
